Getting a good result

Get close enough that one leaf fills a good part of the photo. Whole-room shots rarely identify.
Find even light
Daylight near a window beats a flash. Harsh shadows hide the leaf markings that matter.
Show the problem
If something looks wrong, photograph that part — spots, curling, or discoloured edges.
